Mezzanine Case Studies Gates Rubber Mezzanine with Secured Tool Room Description: Company needed to create a secure tool crib in their facility. Features: The mezzanine was designed with wire partitions on the underside for security purposes. It also features a "bridge" that crosses into an existing area of the building that was previously inaccessible and consequently unusable. A handrail and a security gate for the area were included to make it code compliant. Results: The mezzanine provided a secure tool room and created additional new space, maximizing the use of two areas to their facility __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Demco Product Storage Freestanding Mezzanine 3,900 total square feet Demco was out of usable floor space and wanted to add more product storage space without disrupting an existing conveyor system. A mezzanine allowed Demco to increase storage space by 3,900 square feet without moving or relocating the conveyor system. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Kirkwood Printing Convert Vertical Space Into Usable Floor Space Project Facts: Award winning printing firm needed to expand facility and wanted to avoid costs and headaches associated with new construction. Project Goal: To convert unused vertical space into usable floor space. Results: Kirkwood Printing gained more than 900 square feet of assembly line space over an existing records storage area. The mezzanine also enabled Kirkwood to maintain a clean, organized plant, critical for customer tours. Kirkwood was so pleased that they purchased an additional 2,900 sq. ft. mezzanine. Attractive mezzanine design, tight fit and clean appearance helps to project the corporate image Kirkwood wants to maintain with customers. The engineering expertise helped to keep mezzanine columns out of the way on the plant floor level, thereby creating more open space.
